What makes a PowerCut Saw such a great choice?

1. Gearbox
The gearbox is the heart of the machine. The key is to design and build a gearbox that can deliver power to
the cutting edge without any hesitation or chatter. To facilitate this, MFL has chosen high class gears that have
been ground in sets to eliminate play. The gear box has four sets of reduction gears providing the highest
amount of torque transfer from the powerful drive motor. The gearbox will remain backlash free for the life of
the machine.
2. Saw Blade Technology
The saw blade clamping flange is ground and balanced on the gearbox output shaft. This flange is specially
designed to proportionately match the diameter of the saw blade. It is ground to a maximum runout of .
0005”. The machine is also equipped with a patented saw blade dampening system which suffocates vibration
to maximize tool life and prevent fracturing the carbide teeth. The saw blades are engineered to the most
exacting tolerances and are application specific. There is no standard, because we are still setting it for
everyone to follow.
3. Power & Speed
The drive motor is controlled by an AC Frequency Converter. The cutting speed is infinitely variable within the
drive motor rpm range. The cutting speed can be adjusted to a precise speed based on the material type,
size, hardness, machinability or any other unusual cutting circumstances.
4. Cutting & Control
The saw blade gearbox is moved through the cut with a precise ball screw, powered by a servo drive. This
feed control allows the operator to maximize the chip load per tooth thus increasing production and tool life.
